ARTICLE!!! The Church Has Been Hit Below The Belt By Kolade Segun-Okeowo

The news today says.... Daddy GO Pastor E. A.  Adeboye has appointed Pastor Obayemi as overseer of RCCG Nigeria while Daddy G. O remains the General Overseer "worldwide".

This is based on the law that was just passed by the National Assembly of Nigeria. Daddy just obeyed the law of the nation which says any General Overseer cannot stay over 20years.

For me this is sad news. Although I had privileged information before now of the above event that played out today at The Redemption Camp, I wish it never happened.

What happened today was a fall out of a new legal requirements set up by the Financial Regulations Council, guiding all registered churches, mosques, and CSOs. 

The regulation further stipulates that heads of non profit organisations like churches now have a maximum period of twenty years to lead their organizations. While  in retirement, they are not permitted to hand over to their families.

Although Pastor E.A Adeboye remains the General Overseer of RCCG Worldwide, a major blow had been dealt on the psyche of the Church.

We are gradually entering a dangerous realm now. A realm where The State wields enormous POWER enough to determine when The G.O of a church must retire and whom he must not hand over to even if the Lord is saying such. I am scared...

The Church has been caught unawares. We NOW have a major decision on The  Church taken by a government that we are not fully or massively represented in. This is sad.

How I wish The Church had before now consciously advised and counselled us to massively go into politics. I am sad.

We are in a precarious situation now. A situation where the enemies of the church can wake up one day and use the instrumentation of The National Assembly to hit us badly again.

I am glad Daddy GO called for the massive involvement of Believers in politics. Today at the Thanksgiving Service, he categorically asked all members of the Church to join any political party of their choice.

Now we are talking....

Those who before now questioned my political convictions or asked what I was doing in politics can ask one more time.
